My path to financial planning began in engineering. After earning my Mechanical Engineering degree from Purdue University (Go Boilers!), I spent 15 years in the technical field. During that time, I developed a keen interest in finance and economics, so I transitioned to a new career.
That analytical foundation helps shape how I assist clients today. I work closely with individuals and families preparing for retirement and navigating important life decisions. I value the methodical planning process and find it especially rewarding when a goal comes to fruition. Whether the goal is retirement, lifestyle change, or family planning, it is deeply rewarding to assist clients in achieving their aspirations.
I hold the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification and the Retirement Income Certified Professional® (RICP®) designation. This reflects my commitment to on-going education in order to provide the highest level of service possible.
Outside of work, I spend most of my time with my family. Born in England and raised in Indiana, I still enjoy travelling back to the UK and our old standby, the Oregon coast. My wife, Barb, and I have been married for 36 years, and we enjoy hiking, biking, and reading Shakespeare together. We also love spending time with our two children and family adventures chasing solar eclipses. I enjoy the occasional round of golf, photo safaris, studying antique maps, and reading history.
